The Blue Enamel Horizon is shaped by 1.5 years of development, drawing inspiration from the cliffs, skies, and history of Dover’s Cliffs during the Battle of Britain. It’s a contrast of materials, finishings, and heritage.

The Dial's layered construction echoes the vertical drama of Dover. Infused with oceanic tones, the fumé enamel finished layer is kiln-fired to intensify its rich tonal depth. Framed in polished metal and elevated above a chalk-white textured base, it elegantly captures the cliff's sculptural landscape.

Tributes to the RAF’s wartime Battle of Britain plotting clock are finely integrated: a red-tipped seconds hand, blue date wheel, and 10-micron gold-plated triangle at 12. Chamfered CNC-machined hands add subtle depth, reflecting light with every movement.

Assembled and calibrated in the UK by Horologium, and finished with a custom Italian leather strap, the Blue Horizon pairs British heritage with technical precision.

DESIGN INSPIRATION
TRIANGLE
The Battle of Britain sector clock was a key tool in RAF operations rooms, used to track enemy aircraft and coordinate responses. Its dial was split into red, yellow, and blue segments, each marking five-minute intervals. As time passed, colour-coded markers on plotting tables showed when and where aircraft were sighted, helping commanders act with speed and precision. Elements of this system are echoed in the Horizon watch.

THE DIAL
The White Cliffs of Dover served as the main creative spark behind our design. The Blue Horizon dial draws its deep tones from the English Channel, with a fumé enamel finish that reflects the ever-shifting blues of the waters meeting the shore. Its layered design evokes the dramatic depth and contours of the cliffs, bringing a sense of landscape to the wrist.

THE Accents
Dial accents subtly echo the red, yellow, and blue sectors of the Battle of Britain clock. A custom blue date wheel reflects both the Channel and the clock’s blue sector. THE ENAMEL FINISHED DIAL

Crafted through a multi-step process, the elevated layer is finished with Swiss Berlac enamel and kiln-fired at high temperatures to achieve a rich, striking tonal depth. Its surface shifts with the light, reflecting the sea’s dynamic character.

18 carat gold TRIANGLE

Plated in 18-carat gold to an exceptional 10-micron thickness, the triangle suitably honours the Battle of Britain. Above it, the number “12” is painted in black, set in a custom font inspired by the original clock and carefully adjusted for this project.

THE hands

The hands are CNC-machined resulting in three-dimensional depth. Their precise angles and mirror-polished, chamfered edges catch the light strikingly. This interplay of polish and angles adds visual depth and refinement, enhancing the dial’s presence on the wrist.
